Nest 946 Scholarship – $500 Grant


DESCRIPTION

Young men and women who are insured members of Polish Falcons of America Nest 946 are invited to take part in applying for a Nest 946 scholarship grant.

The main objective of the Nest 946 Scholarship Fund is to provide scholarships for deserving Nest 946 members who are aspiring to attend institutions of higher learning.


ELIGIBILITY

1. Applications are open to young men and women who are regular insured members of Polish Falcons Nest 946 for a MINIMUM OF FOUR YEARS.

2. At least ONE PARENT must be a member of Nest 946 for a MINIUMUM OF ONE YEAR.

3. Candidates must be graduating high school seniors or presently enrolled undergraduates intending to pursue further education in the fall as a full-time student (minimum 12 credit hours) in an accredited two or four year college, university or other full-time school.

4. Applicants must submit a transcript of high school grades along with the application.

5. There is no limit to the number of applicants. Recipients will be chosen based on high school grades, extracurricular activities, and participation in Polish Falcon events.

6. Only one scholarship per year will be awarded.

The Richard C. Gorecki Scholarship Program

Featuring The $15,000 "Outstanding Falcon Scholar" Grant


DESCRIPTION

The Richard C. Gorecki Scholarship Fund is named after a longtime member of Polish Falcons Nest 79 in Southgate, Mich. Druh Gorecki was an outstanding scholar who graduated with a degree in engineering from the prestigious University of Michigan. He passed away on April 14, 1994 and generously bequeathed a portion of his estate to the Polish Falcons for educational purposes. In 1998, the Gorecki Scholarship Fund was established to reward those Falcon members who demonstrate the highest academic standards and leadership qualities.


ELIGIBILITY

A. PFA Member for six years.

B. Minimum G.P.A. 3.0 out of 4.0.

C. Scholarships will only be available to students who will be at least a Junior (third year) for the 2002-2003 academic year, enrolled full-time in a four-year college or university, or full-time post-graduate studies.

D. Previous recipients of a Starzynski Scholarship are eligible to apply for a Gorecki Scholarship. Recipients of a Gorecki Scholarship will not be eligible to apply for a Starzynski Scholarship, or another Gorecki Scholarship.

The Dr. T.A. Starzynski Scholarship Program

Falcon Achievement Scholarship – $800 Grant

General Falcon Scholarship – $500 Grant


DESCRIPTION

Young men and women who are insured members of the Polish Falcons of America are invited to take part in applying for a scholarship grant.

The main objective of the Dr. T.A. Starzynski Scholarship Fund is to provide scholarships for deserving Falcon members who are aspiring to attend institutions of higher learning.


ELIGIBILITY

1. Applications are open to young men and women who are qualified, insured members of the Polish Falcons for a MINIMUM OF FOUR YEARS.

2. Candidates must be graduating high school seniors or presently enrolled undergraduates intending to pursue further education in the fall as a full-time student (minimum 12 credit hours) in an accredited two or four year college or university.

3. Falcon Achievement Scholarship – This scholarship is for PFA members who have taken an active part in the Polish Falcon programs and participated in Nest, District and National activities, and taken an active part in community service programs.

4. General Scholarship – This scholarship is for PFA members who have not been active participants in the Polish Falcons programs. However, candidates must have taken an active part in community service and/or volunteer programs.

5. Applicants must have a minimum cumulative Grade Point Average (G.P.A.) of 2.0 out of 4.0.

6. There is no limit to the number of applicants from any one Nest or District.

7. Only one scholarship per recipient will be allowed.
